CASABLANCA VIP 888 OPENS FOR BUSINESS WITH OFFICES IN BRAZIL, MIAMI, AND LOS ANGELES.
Casablanca, the premier independent production company of Brazil headed by Arlette Siaretta and VIP 2000, the fastest growing international distributor of films and TV programs in Spanish and Portuguese headed by Roxana Rotundo, have partnered in the creation of CASABLANCA VIP 888, an expansion of the two firms in the form of a new creative shop tasked with the development and production of new formats and content for the international media marketplace.
Casablanca is one of the most renowned production companies in Brazil, respected for its impeccable attention to detail and the high production values displayed by all of its films and TV shows. Casablanca is the production company of choice for the major Hollywood studios when shooting in Brazil, having executed the Brazilian versions of their most successful U.S. TV formats including “The Apprentice,” “Top Model,” and “The Simple Life,” among many others.
“This agreement allows us to have a permanent place in the international arena. Casablanca has successfully marketed our films and TV productions beyond the Brazilian borders, but it is time to have a lasting effort to develop formats and content for our clientele around the globe,” commented Casablanca president, Arlette Siaretta. “We are also enormously excited to have a stable presence in the US to dialogue with broadcasters and studios. Combining the powerful distribution arm of VIP 2000 with the quality of Casablanca’s execution is certainly a visionary marriage.”
Films, TV Shows, and the ever popular Telenovelas distributed by VIP 2000 can be seen from primetime to daytime on the most prestigious broadcast signals of every continent. “We are happy to announce our first project together: FUTBOL, PASION Y SAMBA. It is a production scripted and produced in two separate formats to be broadcast either as a series of 40 episodes or as a Telenovela of 120. It is a story that takes us to locations in Brazil and China, combining the tropical flavors of one with the mysterious secrets of the other, having the mega popular 2010 Soccer World Cup as the background,” commented VIP 2000 CEO Roxana Rotundo. “Pre-Production for FUBOL, PASION, y SAMBA started two weeks ago with principal photography due to begin this November. We have assembled an internationally celebrated team of telenovela writers from Brazil, Spain, and Venezuela, and we will announce shortly that two of the most seasoned executives in our business are joining us in order to spearhead this corporate expansion. We have selected the numbers 888 as part of the name of our new enterprise, numbers that signify luck in the Far East and are most appropriate in order to celebrate our Chinese partners on this first project.”
