SAINT MOSCATI - DOCTOR TO THE POOR

Synopsis.

iuseppe Moscati, a physician who is still a figure of cult worship in his native Naples for the work he did on behalf of indigent patients in the late 1800's and early 1900's is one of the few layman to have been made a saint. We see him treating those in need in the midst of a cholera epidemic, saving terminally ill patients from an eruption of Vesuvius volcano and conducting the research that led to the discovery of insulin as a cure for diabetes.
