Synopsis.
Earthquake tremors on Mount Vesuvius, simultaneous with an eruption of Stromboli, the volcano on the Aeolian Islands, alarm the civil defence authorities of Naples. Helmut Mann, a famous German volcanologist, in the city for a series of lectures on the recent activity on Mt. Vesuvius, meets Patrizia, the assistant of his old friend Prof. Angeli, and a striking beauty. The two are immediately attracted to each other and after Helmut’s lecture, Patrizia takes him on a tour of the city and they have a lovely time. Before going home Helmut still has one last wish: to visit Pompeii again...
